Dental Crowns in
Miami Lakes

How our teeth look matters a lot. A dental crown can help greatly in improving the appearance of your smile and bite. It’s a tooth-shaped cap that’s positioned on top of a tooth to improve its appearance and function.
A dental crown is cemented permanently in place, so you don’t have to worry about it falling off. Here at All Dental Group, we always provide the most appropriate dental solutions for our patients including dental crowns.

Dental Crown Procedure: First Visit

When you visit our dental office in Miami Lakes, Florida on your appointment schedule, we will check your teeth to determine if a dental crown is the appropriate treatment. Typically, two visits are needed in order to place a dental crown. During your first visit, our dentist will examine and prepare the problem tooth. The placement of the crown takes place during the second visit.

Expect the first visit to involve some preparation. Our dentist will usually take X-rays of your mouth and check the roots of the tooth. If extensive decay is found, or if there exists a risk of infection, we may suggest a root canal treatment prior to placing a crown.

Our dentist will then anesthetize the tooth and gum then file down the chewing surface of said tooth in order to create room for the dental crown. After the reshaping is done, our dentist will use putty or paste to create an impression of the tooth receiving the crown. The impressions are then sent to a dental laboratory, and a crown will be created there. The dental crown is typically manufactured and sent back after two to three weeks. Meanwhile, a temporary crown will be placed on the tooth.

Second Visit

During your second visit, our dentist will remove the temporary crown and replace it with your permanent dental crown. The appearance and fit of the permanent crown will be checked. If our dentist is happy with the outcome, he will then administer a local anesthetic on your tooth and then permanently cement the crown in place. Rest assured that our staff members are all trained professionals who will be very gentle and thorough.

Our main goal is to take great care of our patients, and that is why we always make sure to give you the right treatment based on your dental problems.
