Dentures in
Miami Lakes

People of all ages can benefit from wearing dentures. It’s a removable replacement device for missing teeth. Dentures also replace surrounding tissues of missing teeth. There are two kinds of dentures: partial and complete. Partial dentures are recommended if you still have several natural teeth, but if you have lost all your teeth, then full dentures are necessary. If you need dentures, we here at All Dental Group can help.

Partial Dentures

Visit our clinic in Miami Lakes, Florida for your initial consultation. Our dentist will gently examine your teeth to find out what your needs are. If it’s a partial denture, you will be given replacement teeth that are attached to a pink-colored base made of plastic. Sometimes partial dentures are connected by a metal framework so that the denture will be securely attached.

Our dentist will recommend partial dentures for you when you still have natural teeth left in your lower or upper jaw. Not only can a partial denture fill in spaces caused by your missing teeth; it will also prevent any of your remaining teeth from moving out of position. You might specifically be recommended precision partial denture. These are removable and come with internal attachments instead of clasps that attach to crowns.

Complete Dentures

Complete dentures are what our dentist will recommend if you’re missing all your teeth on the upper or lower jaw. These dentures are either “conventional” or “immediate” and are customized after your own needs.

A conventional denture may be placed in your mouth about two to three months after your teeth have been removed. Immediate dentures, on the other hand, are made ahead of time and may be positioned as soon as your teeth are removed. Because of this, you will not have to be without teeth while waiting for the healing period to be complete.

The downside to immediate dentures though is that our gums and bones shrink because of the natural aging process, especially when we’re healing after a tooth removal. Immediate dentures need more adjustments compared to conventional ones so they will fit properly during the healing period. This makes the immediate type of dentures ideal as temporary solutions until conventional dentures may be made.
