How Invisalign attachments work?

Invisalign is a brand of clear aligners that have been used to treat numerous orthodontic issues, such as crooked teeth and gaps in between teeth. They are highly effective, if your dentist has recommended that you get Invisalign, then they may have mentioned that there are many different attachments which can be used with the aligner trays in order to make them more comfortable or functional. These attachments help to make wearing Invisalign less stressful and allow you to eat more comfortably while wearing them. This article will discuss how these attachments work, what they’re for, and when it’s best for patients to use them during treatment with Invisalign clear aligners

Invisalign attaches to your teeth using a series of clear plastic aligners

Invisalign is a series of clear plastic aligners that are designed to gradually shift your teeth until they are in the proper position. The teeth-straightening process usually takes around 18 months, although it can take up to two years depending on how long you want your smile to last.

Invisalign uses an advanced 3D imaging system to create a digital plan for each patient’s treatment plan, which is then sent electronically to our office so we can begin creating their aligners. This way, there’s no need for impressions or X-rays!

The teeth-straightening process usually takes around 18 months.

Invisalign aligners are made of smooth plastic and fit over the top of your teeth and gum line. They’re invisible, so you can wear them with your everyday clothes or even while eating and drinking.

With Invisalign, you’ll get a new set of aligners every two weeks until you’ve completed the treatment process–that’s about 18 months in total! The first set is called “the consultation phase” because it takes 8 weeks to complete. Then there’s a 6-month adjustment period where you’ll receive 3 sets at once (you’ll get one set every 2 weeks), followed by two more sets spaced out at 4-week intervals before getting fitted for braces or retainers if necessary.

The aligners fit over the teeth and gum line, so patients don’t need any visible attachments.

Invisalign aligners are comfortable to wear because they’re made of a soft plastic that doesn’t irritate gums or cheeks. Each aligner sticks to your teeth for 24 hours before being removed for an adjustment period of two weeks (or more). During this adjustment period, you’ll wear a different set of aligners on each side of your mouth at once — one set for top teeth and one for bottom — which means four times as many appointments per week!

Invisalign works in two ways, by making tiny movements to gradually realign your teeth and by creating a gradual mechanical pressure that pushes your teeth into place.

Invisalign uses clear aligners that are made of a soft plastic material. The aligners are comfortable to wear and can be removed when eating or brushing your teeth. The aligners move your teeth slightly with each changeover until they’ve been moved into their new positions and you have achieved the desired result.

Like all orthodontic treatment, Invisalign requires consistent use.

Invisalign is a great alternative to braces, but it’s not the only option. In fact, Invisalign has some drawbacks that you should be aware of before committing to treatment.

  • The aligners can be removed for eating and brushing your teeth. This means that food particles can get trapped between your teeth, which can lead to tooth decay over time. You should schedule regular visits with your dentist so they can check for signs of decay and remove any plaque buildup on your teeth while using Invisalign (or any other form of orthodontic treatment).

  • The aligners aren’t always comfortable; some patients report soreness or irritation around their gums from wearing them too tightly or for too long at once.* If you have sensitive skin or gums then this may cause problems for you as well!

Invisalign is a great option for people who want straight teeth and don’t like the idea of wearing visible orthodontic braces. The aligners are easy to take on and off, so you can eat and drink whatever you want while wearing them. Plus, they’re made from clear plastic so no one will know that you’re using Invisalign unless they ask!
